Mind Monmouthshire would like to thank all Partners and the people of Monmouthshire in helping us support over 1000 people in the last financial year
Without the support from Monmouthshire, our partners and the day-in-day-out work from our staff, over 1000 individuals would not have gained the support they need. Just through our Information and Assistance support worker we addressed 1,590 issues people needed support with, experienced by over 800 adults and carers at risk of, or experiencing, poor mental health.
Through our guided self-help programme, which provides a 6-week block of specific individual support, we have supported over 120 individuals with 84% reported improvement in feelings of anxiety, 85% improvement in feelings of depression and overall 85% reported improvement in their wellbeing in everyday life.
Through our Welfare Rights project, we have provided over 160 individuals with advice on benefit decisions, mandatory decisions and appeals. As a result of the support provided we have enabled individuals to access funds they are entitled too, which equates to a total of £119,000.
We have provided over 300 counselling sessions and supported 9 student volunteer placements, helping students gain 845 hours of on the ground experience towards achieving their qualifications, along with 1-1 mentoring support.
The Tenancy and Supported Living staff have helped over 50 people into stable accommodation, with 166 individuals given 1:1 housing support, supporting people of Monmouthshire who are experiencing poor mental health to maintain a tenancy and independent living. A total of 8,632 hours of support provided helping individuals in Monmouthshire in need. In addition, 15 people from the farming community were provided with 1:1 tenancy and housing support.
The wellbeing team have supported over 160 individuals in Monmouthshire through a combination of online self-management courses, peer support/open access wellbeing sessions and checks. An example is our Walk and Talk groups, providing a space for people to join us each week on a walk and meet new people. The team have developed new sessions supporting individuals to understand what they are going through and put coping strategies in place to manage every day life challenges.
We shouldn’t forget our Central Services team, who ensure the charity is able to function and enable the workers to perform their roles, and our trustees and volunteers who provide their time, commitment and enthusiasm.
As a charity we aim to support as many people as possible across Monmouthshire, often stretching ourselves, and we do this because we care, and because more and more people need the support we provide on a daily basis.
Since the charity was formed over 40 years ago, Mind Monmouthshire has formed deep-rooted partnerships leading to increased support and resource in Monmouthshire, and most importantly ensuring individuals gain the support they need and are not left to struggle alone. We know more people are needing support and we try our very best to support as many people as possible with the resources we have.
Thank you to everyone for your ongoing support. Together we will continue to reach out and try and support as many individuals as we can.
